The economic news is confusing -uncertain - perhaps terrible.
Fear grows - darkness surrounds. Buffeted by unknown turmoils. We could lose our resources - maybe everything.
Self preservation urges protection. Tighten down the hatches - be prudent -grasp what is 'mine'.
Yet here we are at Canadian Thanksgiving - and what is our Parish doing? Sharing resources - buying extra food for the local food bank - The Compass. Creating abundance. Stocking shelves. Serving members of the community who have been - are - experiencing difficult times.
The Parish is gathering the power of the Holy Spirit - combating fear with Love. Shining Light into the darkness. An energy for Good. Transforming...
I am called to be joined within our Faith community. Living the teaching of Jesus - the Beatitiudes. It feels right - offers a sign of Hope - to those who are on the edge of losing - to those seemingly lost...
To me.
Perhaps...
It is not absurd...
In uncertain times...
To be grateful...
For the Grace...
Of Giving...
